Approximate end time for rated sections is 3:30.
Novice sections typically end around 2:30. Sections may end sooner and awards are presented as quickly as possible after the completion of all rounds in any given section.
|Time Control:||Game/40, 5 second delay in Championship & Reserve.
Game/30, 5 second delay in Booster, Primary, K-1 Rated and Novice (unrated) sections.
|Byes:||Half (1/2) point bye requests (1 maximum) are available in the first round only.|
COVID-19 Protocols Apply – No at the door entries. Advance registration only. Space is limited to 120 entries.
All players and family members must wear masks at all times while indoors, including in the playing area. Limit of 1 accompanying adult per player.
By registering online, you will not need to check in at the registration desk. Upon your arrival, verify that you are on the advanced entry list. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email in the event there is an error.
The tournament is open to all students in 9th Grade and below. Sections are divided by grade and/or rating.
USCF-rated, except where noted. Bring clocks and score pads.
PRIZES: AWARDS CEREMONIES begin as soon as possible, after each section is completed. Individual Prizes: Top 5 players in each section, as well as any players scoring 3 points in 4 games. Team Prizes: Top 2 school teams per section. Aggregate of top 4 scores determines the team score.

Byes: Byes: 1/2 point by for round 1 only. All byes must be requested by 6 pm on February 26.
Refunds/Cancellation Policy: If you cannot play in an event you have registered for, you may withdraw by emailing email@example.com prior to the tournament. Emails must be received by 6 pm on February 26. NO SHOWS without advance notification forfeit the entry fee.
To request a refund, email firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the tournament. Refunds will be subject to a $15 administrative fee and will be processed 7 days after the tournament.
Supervision & Photo Release Policy: All participants under 16 must have an adult supervisor during the tournament. The NSCF does not provide supervision between games. Also note: Photography and/or video recording occurs at most NSCF tournament events. By registering your child for this event, you hereby give permission for your child's name and/or picture to appear on the NSCF website/promotion. If for any reason this is not acceptable, please advise tournament staff PRIOR to the start of the tournament.
