INSTRUCTOR:  MICHAEL MCDERMOTT

DESCRIPTION: This continuing beginner class is designed for students grades K - 5 interested in learning the fun and exciting game of chess. The class offers a balance of structured lessons and supervised play time. Each week instructor Michael McDermott will start off the class by teaching the students a new topic and then the students will have a chance to execute what they just learned in live games with their classmates. By the end of the semester each student should have enough knowledge to play in their very first chess tournament.
